FAQ's

How do I get started with Pet Care Services?

Text or call We Are Family Pet Care at 219-368-7092 or email us at info@wearefamilypetcare.com and we will set up a Meet and Greet with your pet for pet sitting or dog walking services.

Why do you do a Meet & Greet? I just want to start services right away!

The Meet & Greet is complimentary. We want to make sure that the Care Staff know exactly where all the items to care for your pet are located as well as logistics at your residence or place of service. This is a great time to discuss feeding or special instructions, and, if needed, medication administration.

What if I just want Poop Scooping Services?

Yes, we can just scoop poop!  We can set up poop scooping (Yard waste or Litter Box Refresh) daily, weekly or any other frequency that you would like as a stand alone service.

Are pet vaccinations required?

Yes. For in home pet sitting and dog walking services, We Are Family Pet Care requires all cats and dogs to be up to date on rabies, dogs to be up to date on DHPP and cats to be up to date on FVRCP.   There may be some exceptions for Senior animals.  This helps protect all our Pet Families and Staff.

Do you just care for dogs and cats?

We can care for a large variety of domesticated pets as long as it can be done safely.

Do you do background checks on all your employees?

Yes, we do national background checks on all of our employees.  We Are Family Pet Care originated from We Are Family Home Care  (Senior care services) and we believe the same safety and security should carry over to your pets care and household.

Can you just do House Sitting or Home Watch Services? ... I don't have pets

Yes! We Are Family Pet Care, or in conjunction with sister company We Are Family Home Care, would be happy to set up stand alone House Sitting or Home Watch Services.  This may include physically residing in the Home for requested amount of time or during certain hours to deter bad actors or simulate occupancy.  Such actions may include taking garbage/recycling bins in/out, bringing mail/packages inside the home, turning lights on/off, adjusting blinds or curtains, and general check-ins.
